The IWK Health Centre, among the most respected and beloved institutions in Eastern Canada, cares for more than 300,000 women and children from the region each year.
The IWK Foundation has recently embarked on the largest fundraising effort in the history of health care in Atlantic Canada, with the mission of helping transform the IWK into a centre of excellence for more of its services.
This donor-led project focused on the key areas of mental health services, rehabilitation services, neonatal and pediatric intensive care and women’s health services. As a long-time contributor to the IWK Telethon, the Guildfords Group was pleased to have been able to participate in this most recent effort to support one of the most important institutions for health care in Atlantic Canada.
The Guildfords Group of Companies recognizes the importance of building healthy communities. As Atlantic Canadian builders, we believe in creating world-class facilities right here at home. Our families deserve nothing less. As such, we were pleased to support this worthwhile effort with a $50,000 commitment over the next 5 years.
We along with other members of the Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS) were proud supporters of this monumental redevelopment project. The CANS Campaign for the IWK raised funds to transform the IWK’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Construction of the state-of-the-art facility is expected to begin next year.
